MEET BLOOM TPE – BLOOM’S NEWEST MATERIAL INNOVATION, PROVIDING THE PERFORMANCE YOU EXPECT FROM TRADITIONAL THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS (TPE), NOW WITH POSITIVE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS.

TPEs utilizing Bloom’s algae technology deliver striking performance values, which make them excellent replacements for conventional thermoplastic elastomers.

Algae’s natural thermoplastic qualities allow BLOOM TPE to meet, and in some cases exceed performance characteristics of conventional TPE.

APPLICATIONS

BLOOM TPE is an algae-blended resin containing a higher percentage of algae biomass and bio-based additives than ever before. BLOOM TPE has a renewable content of at least 45%, offsetting a significant portion of traditional petroleum-based TPE required for footwear manufacturing. For even greater impact, BLOOM TPE can be mixed with Rise to increase compression set performance and overall algae biomass content. BLOOM TPE is the ideal solution for insoles, midsoles, yoga mats, and many of your footwear and sporting goods needs.

Why does BLOOM TPE contain algae?

Algae is the fastest growing plant on Earth, and it is a vital component of aquatic ecosystems. However, the rise in global temperatures, excess nutrient runoff, and human activities have contributed to an uncontrollable rise in algae growth in ecosystems around the world—harming plant, animal, and even human life.

Bloom decided to turn that negative into a positive by utilizing excess algae biomass harvested from ecosystems in need of algae management. Algae biomass does not require fossil fuel or arable land to grow, making it the perfect resource for creating useful materials.

By implementing algae biomass into performance products around the world, Bloom has created a strong market and efficient supply chain for algae as a sustainable resource, all the while helping create and maintain healthy ecosystems.

HOW TO WORK WITH

Bloom

1

DESIGN YOUR PRODUCT

Design a product that would traditionally include petroleum-based materials (like EVA, TPR, etc). Don’t worry, our materials work seamlessly with standard manufacturing processes.

2

ADD A BLOOM MATERIAL TECHNOLOGY

Add Bloom to your supply chain either by working with an existing Bloom factory partner or by reaching out to
us to onboard a new factory.

3

WORK WITH YOUR FACTORY TO SPEC IN A BLOOM COMPONENT

Use our most common formulas to develop your tech pack using Bloom masterbatch OR your factory can develop a custom formula that meets your specific needs.

4

GET YOUR CERTIFIED BLOOM ECO-FACTS

Once your formula is in place – reach out to us! We can work with you and your factory to forecast your masterbatch needs and to begin the certification process for your Bloom eco-facts.

5

LAUNCH YOUR PRODUCT!

1. Use your eco-facts to prove the positive environmental impacts of your product.
2. Reach out to us to receive marketing visuals and materials for sharing the Bloom eco-story.
3. Let us know when you’re going live! We love to promote our brand partners.
